To Blog or Not to Blog

There's an ego that wants to rise and present itself in blogs -- yours, mine, and Bob your uncle's. It seems such a wank. And yet, what else is there to fight the Blue Meanies?

Everything I do, read, say, and dance...is about creating more sustainable towns

How many of you have paid $.99 for a liter bottle of [supposedly spring-fed or triply-filtered] water? You think nothing of it, right? Water from the tap -- yech! Bottled water, ahhhh, so sweet.

Well, when you do that, you're paying more for water than for the gasoline you put in your SUV, er, I mean hybrid or Honda Civic.

Reality check! Whazzup wid dat? What are the implications of that? Is it where we should be at this point in time and space? I mean, it is a fad, a _______, or a fact?

They say that WATER is going to be the next "liquid gold" after OIL, the next eyes-on-the-prize item to invest in. To die for. To kill for. To cheat, lie, and steal for. Water without which...no life. One part oxygen, two parts hydrogen, at STP. Sing halleluyah for water!

Get a grip. Don't lose it over water. After WATER...AIR. We'll be fighting over the air we breathe. Air filtration systems will be premium items sought after in the markets of the world.

GMO foods, two generations in the future, will find our nervous systems altered to be tunable to electromagnetic frequencies that allow the government to "broadcast" directly into our brains. Years ago it was possible to install a crystal radio into a tooth that would allow you to "hear" radio inside your head! Now, the government is working on a plan that will allow them to broadcast "news" or "instructions" or "information" directly -- no other equipment necessary.

The Supreme Court, 22 years from now, will have to pass a law that limits how much and when the government is permitted to brain-broadcast. Privacy concerns, it will be reported, were the tipping point issues that forced the USSC to adjudicate against the government.

Back to water.

I'll be back...

INVITATION TO SMALL TOWNS AND CITIES

If you know of a small town or city that is currently organizing to make itself more sustainable, please let me know.

The Little Town That Could...

MOVING TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY WILL SAVE DEMOCRACY~~

Democracy today is but a shadow of a shadow. It is being stripped of many of the trappings -- nay, the necessities -- that we have come to associate with "liberty and justice for all."

Things will get better or worse; they cannot stay the same.

For me, the hope lies in small towns and cities all around the globe -- towns and cities that move, within themselves, from a status quo that reflects the old paradigm of "the American Dream" to a new paradigm of sustainability, stewardship of our commons, and true democracy as felt, desired, and achieved by each community wherever it is.

Why do I focus on small towns and cities? Because the individual is too small today to do anything to change the System, and big government in state capitals and in Washington, D.C., are too corrupt and distant and caught in the juggernaut grasp of big money to even care about the little guys, the masses, the People who live in small towns and cities. But when a small town or city raises its collective voice, when it shifts significantly from the old paradigm to the new, when it declares itself mad as hell and not going to take it anymore -- the big boys (and a few sell-out women) will listen. They will have to. Because the media will cover it; the media will not be able to avoid it, no matter how hard they try...or are directed to by their owners.

Isn't it disgusting that one of the biggest weapons manufacturers owns one of the biggest mainstream media networks: General Electric owns, controls, and determines the information broadcast by NBC? Simply disgusting.

So when communities coalesce, as mine is doing now, in order to move concertedly towards a more localized, sustainable future that they create for themselves, the world will take notice.

And it's this "notice' that will force life once again into the revolution that must be completed: that of democracy, of, by, and for.

I was born on the Fourth of July.
